99.5 The Bull is Helena's original country station. Your favorite Country artists like Clint Black, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson are right here. The Bull plays all-time country favorites from throughout the decades. You will find only Montana's pure country on 99.5 The Bull.

The Bull listeners are true country lovers. They live and breath country. Equally a male/female audience, The Bull catches the ears of the Montanans, so you will hear The Bull blaring from muddy trucks in the high school parking lots, and in town cars at the capitol.

The longest running country station in Helena features familiar voices every hour. The Bull is the only station that offers the signature "Ten In a Tow" at the top of every hour. You'll also find popular country shows like Rick Jackson's Country Classics and Rise-Up Country with John Ritter.

   Cory Wood

Cory Wood began his radio career in the 1990’s in Billings, Butte, and Great Falls before arriving in Helena on KBLL in 1997. He started on afternoons but soon went to the night shift and hosted call-in shows The Total Request Zone, and Cryin, Lovin and Leavin from 7pm to midnight for many years.

In 2003 Cory Wood took over the morning drive with “Waking up with Cory Wood”. A year later, he started working the afternoon drive for Z101, Helena’s Classic Rock, a position he held for nine years. In 2007 Cory decided to try a change in format and took the morning position on B104 Helena’s First Hit Music Station. Cory became the Program Director for KHLN which, after a couple format flips and a frequency change, is now DAVE FM.

After leaving the business for two years he returned in 2016 to afternoons on B104 and recently returned “home” to the BULL (after a 10 year absence) on air from 2-6pm.

   Kurt Kittelson

Kurt is a 33 year veteran of broadcast radio. He is a Montana native who grew up in Billings, although “growing up” is the subject of some debate.

Before coming to Helena 29 years ago, Kurt graduated from Billings West and May School of Broadcasting. He spent the first 4 years learning his craft in Glasgow, MT. In 1989 he accepted a position with KHKR in Helena doing sales, production, an air shift and play by play. Today, after four sales of the properties he continues as anchor of Montana’s Morning News on KCAP and Program Director of KBLL.

In 1994 he met and married Sara and together they raised four children and two cats in Helena. In his spare time he enjoys Carroll Football games, bowling, and waiting ‘til next year with all the other Viking fans.

   Kenny James

Kenny James is a proud United States Air Force Veteran.

He started his radio career 20 years ago in Spokane, WA at 93.7 Cat Country on overnight radio. He soon moved to Sedalia, MO where he worked Country format and Variety Favorites on AM Radio.

Now in Montana he works at the Montana Radio Company: first evenings on The Mighty Mo, and after several moves within the company, he now can be found in the morning on Montana’s Pure Country KBLL 99.5 The Bull.

He also programs live sports for The Montana Radio Company on stations like The AM KCAP at 950 AM where he produces Helena High Football, and Boys and Girls Basketball on the FM KCAP where he does the same for Capital High Sports. Kenny also programs Carroll College Sports and National sport events such as NFL, MLB, College Football and College basketball, and each of their respective championship games for the Montana Radio Company.
